About the Gilford Village Store

Craig & Kristin Jordan, former owners of another tried and true staple in the Lakes Region, family-owned Jordan's Ice Creamery (founded in 1994), brought a vision to life in the Spring of 2024 by investing in this magical historic building and flourishing business.

Craig, a native of Gilford, took over the family ice cream business in 2012, growing its following to unimaginable levels through his innovative ice cream flavors and flights, memorable and highly desired ice cream social displays, and expansive wholesale commitments. He made the bittersweet decision to turn his full attention to The Village Store in early 2025, and hasn’t looked back.

Kristin, originally from Maine, spent much of early adulthood working in and managing restaurants before, during, and for a short while after nursing school. She is also a Registered Nurse who recently finished her Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner advanced certification program.

Together, Craig & Kristin, when not investing time and energy in their respective and collective careers, enjoy being with their three children. They also enjoy traveling the world to experience new cultures and cuisines. To them, food is the tie that binds a community and a magnetic force promoting connection and togetherness. There’s no greater celebration of food and community than what The Village Store has to offer, and its magical location in the heart of historic Gilford Village. It truly is an immersive experience.

Please stop in and say hello!

About The Village Store: Opening in 1836, the store initially operated as the town’s primary trading post. Early merchants sold everything from yarn and sewing supplies, to butter, salt, muskrat skins, grammar books, and other provisions. Spanning many, many generations and renditions, changing hands numerous times over the years, this store has evolved with the times, and has always remained a steadfast staple in this cozy, small New England community. The Village Store is a deli, bakery, coffee shop, internet café, general store, gift shop, and convenience store – in the words of “David” from Schitt’s Creek it truly is an immersive experience. This area of Belknap Mountain Rd shuts down multiple times a year to bring the community together, be it for Gilford Old Home Day, Halloween trick-or-treating, or the Candlelight Stroll just before the Christmas holiday. A literal stone’s throw from the store is the town library, elementary school, middle school, high school, a nursery school, baseball and soccer fields, tennis courts, playground, a Community Church, and the town’s Youth Center.
